NYU 4x100 Meter Relay Second at Roadrunner Invitational

The New York University men's track & field team took part in the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ, on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4.
 
The foursome consisting of sophomores Caleb Su and Budd Brown, junior Matthew Powers, and freshman Malcolm Montilus took second among 21 teams in the 4x100m relay with a season-best time of 42.78.
 
Powers and Brown also scored in the individual 200m. Powers took third in 22.04 (season's best), while Brown was fifth with a time of 22.35.

The NYU team finished seventh among 28 schools with a total of 34 points. Monroe College finished in first place, scoring 130 points.
 
Highlights:
 
- Sophomore Carter Beardsley took fourth in the shot put with 13.95m. He also competed in the hammer throw, placing 10th with a 40.30m attempt.

- Senior Steve Crnic finished fifth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:10.89. Junior Daniel Rieger and freshman Jordan Reyes ran 4:18.72 and 4:21.61 for 19th and 24th, respectively.

- Junior Max Avila was fifth in the 800m in 2:00.92. Seniors Tom Donegan and Justin Turlip made it into the top-20 in this event, placing 15th (2:05.07) and 17th (2:05.32), respectively. 

- Freshman Isaac Cohen scored for the team in the 5,000m with a sixth-place finish in 16:24.86. Junior Tanner McMahon and sophomore Pat Healey took 11th and 12th in 16:40.88 and 16:41.35, respectively.

- A newcomer, transfer from NCAA Division II Glenville State College, junior Boris Nimcevic took 11th in the javelin throw with 43.88m.
