Evan Scott of Brandeis Earns Second Consecutive high Jump Win

The Brandeis track and field team participated in the Snowflake Classic at Tufts University last Saturday. The men placed ninth out of sixteen teams with 30.5 points.

Senior Evan Scott (North Kingstown, R.I. / North Kingstown) won the high jump for the second straight meet with a jump of 1.88m (6'2") in the finals. Junior Mark Franklin (Auburn, N.H. / Pinkerton Acad.) finished fifth with a jump 1.73 meters (5'8").

Senior Adam Berger (Concord, N.H. / Concord) placed sixth in the long jump with 6.16m (20'2"). Sophomore Adam Beckwith (Arlington, Mass. / Concord Carlisle) led the Judges in the 200-meter dash with 23.92 seconds, finishing sixth overall. Junior Jeremy Wilson (Elizabeth, N.J. / Elizabeth) was 10th in the 400m dash with 53.82 seconds.

Junior Quinton Hoey (Watertown, Conn. / Watertown) led Brandeis in the 1500m run in third place with 4:05.26, followed by senior Grady Ward (Essex Junction, Vt. / Essex) in ninth with 4:08.42.

In the 400-meter hurdles, rookie Henry McDonald (Weymouth, Mass. / Weymouth) led the Judges running 1:00.70, good for seventh place. Senior Trevor Tuplin (Weymouth, Mass. / Weymouth) followed in eighth at 1:01.90.

Senior Kevin Trotman (Bristol, Conn. / Taft School) was eighth in the discus throw, hurling 35.96m (118 ft), and rookie Scott Grote (Greenfield, Mass. / Greenfield) followed in ninth place with 35.89m (117'9"). Grote led Brandeis in the shot put with a throw of 8.70m (28'6"), placing 19th.
