Emory Finishes Fourth at UAA Championships

The Emory University men's track & field team saw two more athletes capture conference titles on day two of the 2016 Outdoor UAA Championships held at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. The men's team finished in fourth place with 124.5 points.

The men's team had two event championships from a pair of sophomores on Sunday to give them four at the 2016 Championships. Daniel Pietsch repeated as the 400m Dash champion, tying his UAA record time of 47.50 that he set last year and Benjamin Rogin won the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.20.

In addition to the two championships on Sunday, the Eagles tallied eight All-UAA honors, bringing the men's two day total to 11. Pietsch added All-UAA honors in three other events, taking second in the 200m Dash at 21.84 and was part of the second place 4x100 Relay (42.18) with junior Kyle Veator, senior Spencer Koh, sophomore Max Helfman and the third place 4x400 Relay team with Koh, Veator and junior Ian McIsaac which finished with a time of 3:19.07. Senior Jacob Seigel, coming off his third Discus title on Saturday, broke the school record in the shot put, posting a mark of 14.82m in a second place finish in the event. Sophomore Charlie Hu tied his personal-best mark of 13.36m to finish third in the triple jump event. Sophomore Max Brown rounded out Emory's top male performers with All-UAA accolades in the 1500m Run, placing third with a time of 3:56.09.
