The New York University men's track & field team participated in the SWAT Meet on Monday, May 16, hosted by Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA.

In a career-best performance, junior Nick Karam posted a time of 3:51.45 to finish in 29th. The performance ranked as the 25th-best 1,500m run of the outdoor season for a Division III runner. Also posting a career-best time was 74th-placed senior Eddie Cruz-Desintonio with a time of 4:02.57. Freshman Ben Haderle took 84th in 4:07.14.

"Nick ran great," said Assistant Coach Erison Hurtault. "He is right on the edge of the bubble for NCAA's, but we are hoping for some scratches."

Leading the Violets in the 800m was 14th-placed senior Max Avila in 1:53.48. Junior Curtis Mann trailed behind in 30th clocking in his own season-best time of 1:55.04. In 42nd place was freshman Daniel Saczyk (1:58.10), who was followed by junior Conner Meenan ten spots later (2:01.39).

The men's 4x400m relay came in fourth and almost set a new season high with a time of 3:16.85.

"Even without (Matt) Powers, we were able to run great times," explained Hurtault. "I told the 4x400m team that they had to beat two teams to get to nationals, and they came through."
