UAA Announces Men's Outdoor Track and Field Awards; Deko Ricketts of Washington University and Andrew Maneval of University of Chicago Garner Top Honors

Junior Deko Ricketts of Washington University was named Most Outstanding Performer for Running Events and junior Andrew Maneval of University of Chicago was selected as Most Outstanding Performer in Field Events as the UAA Outdoor Track and Field award winners were announced.

2016 UAA Award Winners

Ricketts broke the UAA record in winning the 800-meter run in 1:51.11 and ran the anchor leg of the Bears' 3,200-meter relay that broke the Association mark in a time of 7:34.70.

Maneval won his first career Association title in the shot put with a top heave of 15.40 meters, and added runner-up finishes in the hammer throw (49.32 meters) and the discus (44.12 meters).

Rai Walters of Carnegie Mellon University earned UAA Rookie of the Year accolades after winning the long jump with a season-best leap of 6.82 meters.

Washington University earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
