Jacob Schofel, Owen Norley of Carnegie Mellon Finish Season at NCAA Championship

Junior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) and senior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) closed the season for the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 27. The meet was held at SPIRE Institute.

Schofel, competing at the NCAA meet for the first time in his career, finished 18th in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.68 meters. He is just the second Tartan to compete in the hammer throw at the NCAA championships.

Norley completed his running career for the Tartans with a 13th-place finish in the 1,500-meter run in Saturday's final with a time of 4:01.19.

Earlier this season, Norley set the school record in the 1,500-meter run at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational with a career-best time of 3:48.83.
