Nathaniel Wahner & Spartans' 1,600 Relay Compete on Day One at NCAA Outdoor Championship

Case Western Reserve University senior sprinter Nathaniel Wahner and the men's 4x400-meter relay of Wahner, junior Andrew Ibibo, sophomore Joseph Cabral and freshman Jonathan Haling competed on the first day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Competing in his first outdoor national meet, Wahner competed individually in the 200-meter dash. Overall, 20 student-athletes competed in the event with the top nine qualifying for the finals on Saturday.

Wahner was seeded 17th in the 200-meter dash entering the meet with a school-record time of 21.43. He placed 17th in the 200-meter preliminaries with a time of 21.97.

The 4x400-meter relay team entered the meet seeded fifth with a school-record time of 3:13.62. They finished 16th in the 4x400-meter preliminaries with a time of 3:17.16.
