The New York University men's track & field team completed day one of Princeton University's Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, NJ, on Friday, April 7.
NYU was represented by their distance runners on Friday. Junior Neil Saddler and senior Jorge Maldonado led the way with their 12th- (14:56.97) and 13th-place (14:58.39) finishes, respectively, in the 5,000m.
"Jorge and Neil both ran really well," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "Strong performances in windy conditions. They are showing that they are in great shape and condition still at this point of the season. They probably got top-50 times with that one event."
Senior Curtis Mann steered the Violets in the 800m by placing 15th with a time of 1:57.03. Freshmen Benjamin Heintz and Khayre Ali followed behind in 27th (2:00.19) and 31st (2:01.62), respectively.
The 3,000m steeplechase had senior Nathaniel Picard-Busky take 20th by recording a time of 10:19.06.
