NYU Participates in Ursinus College Invitational

The New York University men's track & field team competed at the Ursinus College Invitational on Saturday, March 25, in Collegeville, PA.

On the track, senior captain Budd Brown led the way for the Violets. He finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.84 and also helped lead the 4x400- meter relay team to a second-place finish. Accompanied by Caleb Su, Grayson Hepp and Vincent Booth, the men posted a time of 3:34.31.

In the longest distance event of the day, the mixed 10,000-meter run, sophomore Julian Marrufo finished second with a time of 33:25.87. This is the first time that Marruffo has run in this event for NYU. 

In the field, junior Sherman King finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 4.25m (narrowly missing his 4.27m personal best), and freshman Austin Gregory finished fourth by posting a personal best of 4.10m.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Booth also performed well in the 400-meter dash, finishing seventh (51.25).

- Junior Robert Desisto and sophomore Brandon Shirazi finished the 1,500m in fourth (4:08.69) and seventh (4:13.26), respectively.

- Junior Daniel Sovich continued to perform well in the 400m hurdles. He finished sixth with a time of 1:01.13. 

- Sophomore Yohan Su finished in seventh place in the long jump with a mark of 6.03 meters.
