UAA Announces 2017 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Awards

The UAA announced the 2017 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship awards.

2017 UAA Outdoor Track and Field Honors

Senior Nathaniel Wahner of Case Western Reserve University was named Most Outstanding Performer for running events, while senior Andrew Maneval of University of Chicago and junior Jacob Schofel of Carnegie Mellon University shared the top honor for field events.

Wahner captured UAA titles in the 200- (21.71 seconds) and 400-meter (47.64 seconds) dashes, and anchored the victorious 400-meter relay (42.20 seconds) and the 1,600-meter relay (3:16.55).

Maneval finished first in the shot put (15.34 meters) and the discus (46.99 meters), finishing third in the hammer throw. Schofel won the hammer throw (54.38 meters) and placed second in the shot put, third in the discus, and eighth in the javelin.

Domic Oddo of the Spartans was selected as Rookie of the Year. Carnegie Mellon University Head Coach Gary Aldrich and his staff were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year for leading the Tartans to the team title.

Oddo took home the UAA title in the long jump (7.16 meters) and placed sixth in the high hurdles.
