NYU Finishes Second at Vassar College Invitational

The New York University men's track & field team competed at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday, April 21, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

NYU tallied 165 points at the event to finish second out of 10 squads. Stevens Institute of Technology scored 265 points to finish in first place.

The Violets had multiple winners on the day, including William Lee who won the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters. He was followed in second place by teammate Joseph Forrler, who jumped 1.75m.

NYU's 4X400 squad (Shawn Andrade, Julian Montilus, Soham Kamat, and Vince Booth) completed their race in 3:29.79 to hold off the second -lace team from Stevens by more than one second. 

Jordan Reyes was another winner for the Violets on Saturday as he captured the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:04.02, almost 15 seconds better than the second-place finisher.

Daniel Sovich (58.66; 400m hurdles) and Booth (1:59.26; 800m run) both recorded second-place finishes, as did Jack Lillian, who crossed the finish line in the 3,000m in a time of 9:11.04.
