Jacob Schofel of Carnegie Mellon Places 13th at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) competed at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon. The three-day championships were hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Schofel finished his career with a 13th-place finish in the hammer throw. He recorded a throw of 54.90 meters on his first of three attempts which proved to be his best mark on the afternoon.

It marked the Schofel's second straight season appearing at the national meet. He finished 18th a year ago in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.68 meters.
