Washington Men's Track & Field Wins Indoor Season Opener at IWU

The Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team won three events to highlight the indoor season opener for the Bears at the Titan First Chance meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday.

Sophomores James Fitzhugh and Britt Henderson each claimed individual first-place finishes for the Washington U. men. Fitzhugh won the 300 in a time of 35.86, while Henderson finished first in the 600 in 1:22.43. The Bears' final event win was in the men's 1,600 relay, in which the Bears clocked a time of 3:26.63.

Freshman Jack McCarthy added a third-place finish for the WUSTL men in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.66.

The Washington U. track & field teams resume their indoor seasons Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Titan Triangular hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.
