Case Western Reserve University senior Harry Weintraub (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) placed 12th in Friday afternoon's weight throw competition at the 2014 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship at Knight Fieldhouse on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Competing at his first indoor national meet, Weintraub's best throw traveled 58 feet, one inch. Overall, 15 student-athletes competed in the event with the top eight earning All-America status.
Earlier this month, Weintraub was named the University Athletic Association Indoor Men's Most Outstanding Field Events performer. An NCAA All-American in the hammer throw last spring, Weintraub owns school records in the hammer and weight throws, is a seven-time UAA Field Athlete of the Week, and has five individual UAA Championships on his resume.
