Chicago Opens Season with Phoenix Invitational Title

The University of Chicago men's track and field team opened the indoor season by winning its own Phoenix Invitational on Saturday.

UChicago's men scored 206 points as Aurora was second at 121.166 points.

UChicago finished with six wins Sophomore Gareth Jones beat out the field in the men's 3,000 meters by only 0.64 seconds in a time of 8:54.45.

Sophomore Andrew Maneval topped the shot put by 1.47 meters thanks to a heave of 14.37 meters.
