Junior Budd Brown of the New York University men's track & field team took part in the 400m final at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Saturday, March 12, in Grinnell, IA.

The Violet captain capped off his indoor campaign by competing in the second heat of the 400m. He finished with a time of 50.06 and took eighth overall.

On the first day of the NCAA Championships on Friday, the Baldwin, NY, native qualified for the finals with the fifth-best time (48.82).

"Keep improving," said Head Coach Will Boylan-Pett referring to the upcoming outdoor season. "We had a great indoor season. Hopefully, we can get these two guys, Budd and Matt (Powers), back to nationals with some of their teammates following suit. Our goal is to just keep getting faster day-in and day-out."

Senior captain Powers ran in the 200m preliminaries yesterday and just missed the cut for today's finals by less than two-hundredths of a second.
