Maroons Place Ninth at Wisconsin-Whitewater Squig Converse Invitational

The University of Chicago men's track and field team finished ninth out of 10 teams at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational on Friday.

A total of 12 Maroons placed in the top 10 of their respective events. Four athletes finished in the top five, with junior Timofey Karginov leading the charge. The junior beat the field by 6.42 seconds and won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:25.85.

A trio of UChicago men placed fifth. Sophomore Nathan Downey ran the 400 meters in 50.08, sophomore Patrick Lefevre went over the 60-meter hurdles in 8.47 and junior Gareth Jones finished at 8:44.73 in the 3,000 meters.
