From Washington University Athletics

Senior Josh Clark and junior Deko Ricketts each broke school records to highlight nine career-best performances for the Washington University in St. Louis men's indoor track & field teams Friday evening at the Hoosier Hills Invite hosted by Indiana University.

Clark finished sixth in the fast heat of the men's mile, clocking a time of 4:12.04 in the event. It was more than a two-second improvement from his previous career-best, and broke the previous WashU record of 4:12.07 set in 2014 by junior teammate Ethan Brodeur. Clark's time ranks him 16th in NCAA Division III this season. Junior Mike Sullivan also ran the mile at the meet, finishing fifth in his heat with a career-best time of 4:16.11.

Ricketts shaved nearly three seconds off his own school record to finish second in the men's 800 fast section with a time of 1:50.59. With the time, Ricketts moved to the top of the NCAA Division III leaderboard this season. Junior Britt Henderson (1:57.28) finished third in the other heat of the men's 800, and senior Alex Bastian ran a season-best time of 1:57.97 to finish fifth.

Junior Jimmy Qiao (8:35.05) and freshman Peter Johnsrud (8:40.31) ran career-best times in the men's 3,000 to place seventh and ninth, respectively. Four other members of the WashU women's team also competed at the meet.
