From Case Western Reserve University Athletics
Senior sprinter Nathaniel Wahner highlighted the performances for the Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team, setting a new school-record at the 2017 Polar Bear Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern University.
Wahner crossed the finish line in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.23, finishing first in the event. The time bested his previous school record of 22.32 set at last weekend's University Athletic Association Championships.
Prior to Saturday's competition, Wahner ranked No. 25 in Division III with a time 22.32.
Wahner also teamed with senior Joe Ledger, junior Aidan DeSanto and sophomore Joseph Cabral in the men's distance medley relay to place first with a time of 10:24.04.
Freshman Dominic Oddo also competed on Saturday, finishing third in the long jump with a distance of 6.58 meters.
A total of 15 men will be selected to compete on the national stage from each event and that will be announced on Monday.
