The New York University men's track & field team competed at the Villanova Open on Friday, January 27, held at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY.

There was no team scoring.

Freshman jumper Austin Gregory took up the pole vault for the first time this season, clearing a distance of 4.20m on his first attempt to place first. Senior Nick Hespe also cleared 4.20m, but he missed the mark before clearing the height, putting him in fifth.

Sophomore Yohan Su capped off the day with a season best in the long jump by clearing 5.87m to finish sixth. Fellow classmate William Lee registered a height of 1.92m in the high jump to take fifth. With his mark, Lee is first in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in the event.

"End of the day, we didn't hold back the field events," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "William is showing he is a force in the UAA. The field athletes were definitely the biggest highlight of the day."

On the track, junior Vince Booth and senior captain Nick Karam finished hip-to-hip in 10th and 11th places, respectively, in the 800m, with times of 2:00.10 and 2:00.22.

In the mile, freshman Khayre Ali came in seventh with a time of 4:26.82. Senior Nathaniel Picard-Busky followed in 10th, recording a time of 4:31.12.
