Maroons Take Team Title at IWU Triangular

The University of Chicago men's track and field team grabbed first place at Illinois Wesleyan University's I-55 Triangular on Saturday.

The three-team meet included UChicago, host IWU and Washington University-St. Louis. The Maroon men won with 125.5 points, followed by WashU with 121 and IWU with 70.5. 

The Maroon men accounted for seven victories on the afternoon. Senior Temisan Osowa took first in the 60 meters in 7.20 and was runner-up in the 200 meters. Junior Connor Turkatte beat out Osowa by 0.07 seconds in 23.31. Freshman Tyson Miller was a double winner on the day in the 400 meters (51.68) and as part of the 4x400-meter relay alongside junior Obinnaya Wamuo, freshman Elliott Paintsil and junior Nathan Downey.

Senior Andrew Maneval won the shot put by almost a whole meter (14.54 meters), junior Patrick LeFevre finished first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.51) and senior Nick Nielsen picked up a victory in the 3,000 meters (8:41.04).
