Bears Finish Second at Engineering Invitational Competition

The Washington University in St. Louis men's track & field team placed second at the Engineers Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday evening.

The men were led by Ezugo Onejeme, Nick Matteucci and Deko Ricketts. Onejeme improved his top distance in the triple jump with a season-best distance of 13.49m.

Ricketts won the 800m dash by dropping more than two seconds of his previous season-best time to 1:54.75, the third best time in the country. Conor Cashner placed second with less than a second separating him from Ricketts, 1:55.59.

Matteucci won the one-mile run with a time of 4:19.58 which ranks 19th in Division III.
