CWRU Finishes Third at SPIRE Invitational

The Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team turned in strong performances at the SPIRE Invitational, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday.

The men, who tallied 12 top-five finishes, placed third out of 13 teams at the meet with 71 points.

Winning events for the Spartan men on Saturday was sophomore Dominic Oddo in the long jump with a mark of 6.60 meters. Senior Grant Mlack placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.76.

Adding top performances by a Spartan man during the meet were freshman Kai Fletcher in the high jump (third, 1.86m) and in the triple jump (fourth, 12.76m), freshman Jordan Butler in the high jump (fifth, 1.86m), senior Andrew Ibibo in the 400-meter dash (third, 50.30) and in the 200-meter dash (fifth, 22.82), sophomore Jonathan Haling in the 400-meter dash (fourth, 50.68), senior Zak Hurd in the 60-meter dash (third, 7.16), senior Ben Zelkin in the 60-meter dash (fourth, 7.19), junior Tyler Bushman in the weight throw (fourth, 14.92m) and senior Alex Nesvisky in the weight throw (fifth, 14.37m).
