Emory in Action at Eastern Tennessee State, Sewanee Indoor Invitationals

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team was in action this past weekend, competing in both the Buccaneer Invitational at East Tennessee State and the Tiger Indoor Invitational at Sewanee University. The Eagles came in sixth at Sewanee with 25 points while there was no team scoring at ETSU.

Senior Benjamin Rogin highlighted the Eagles at Sewanee as the fourth-year hurdler took first in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 7.75. Junior Noah Elmadded a third place showing in the event with a time of 8.49. In the weight throw, junior Zachary Lembersky placed second with 13.58m and in the 55m Dash, sophomore Dylan Boye took sixth at 6.76.

At ETSU, sophomore Luis Torres ran a personal-best in the 5000m Run, finishing fourth overall with a mark of 15:16.88. Junior Phil Edwards came in seventh in the event at 15:38.69 while sophomore Martin Pimentel clocked in just .01 seconds behind Edwards for eighth place.

The Distance Medley Relay team turned in the fastest time of the season at 10:32.81 as the group of freshmen Jacob Hedgepeth, Thomas Perretta, Kyle Fawzi and sophomore Samuel Branson finished third overall.

Fawzi led all Emory runners in the 800m Run with a mark of 1:58.61, placing seventh while freshman Jack Whetstone was eighth in the 3000m Run (9:00.55) and freshman Matthew Dillon placed 10th in the Mile at 4:30.32.
