Isaac Mills Runs Personal Best at NCAA Championships

Carnegie Mellon University junior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) competed at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, March 9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. Mills ran the 800-meter run after qualifying for the meet for the first time in his career.

Friday afternoon's race saw Mills run a personal-best time of 1:53.68. The time knocked nearly a minute off his previous best while he finished the preliminary race 11th overall.

The top eight finishers move on to the finals which will be ran Saturday afternoon.

Mills is the second Tartan to compete in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and first since Thomas Vandenberg in 2015. Participation for Mills at the championships this year marks the fifth straight year at least one Tartan competed on the national stage.
