Washington University Opens Season at Titan First Chance Meet

The 2018-19 indoor track & field season opened Saturday evening with Washington University in St. Louis' program totaled four first place efforts during the Titan First Chance meet in the Shirk Center.

Sophomore John Harry Wagner, the 800m runner of the 2018 national runner-up distance medley relay team, placed first overall in the 600m run. He posted a time of 1:22.03. He was more than a second ahead of the Titan First Chance meet runner-up, junior Jon Fleming (1:23.71) and third place finisher sophomore Arthur Santoro(1:24.43).

Santoro and Wagner also joined efforts with seniors Eddie Wintergalen and Sam LaSota placed second in the 4x400m relay. The group ran in 3:23.62, the top time among Division III competition at the meet.

Junior Brandon Hutchison placed second in the pole vault with a height of 4.40m. Junior Collis McKenzie took third place in the high jump with a mark of 1.88m.
