The Emory University Men's Track and Field team participated in the two-day Samford Bulldog Open at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, AL this weekend. There was no team scoring at the meet, which saw representatives from over 30 programs attend.

Sophomore Spencer Moore led the Emory men's team, winning the 3000m Run by turning in the 10th-fastest time in school history. His time of 8:38.70 paced a field of 28 runners. Finishing as the runner-up out of 20 participants in the 5000m Run was sophomore John Cox, who raced in 4:55.62, a mark that makes him the seventh-fastest Eagle in the event in program history. Sophomore Lucas Werner also etched his name in the Emory record book, as he qualified for the 60m Hurdle Finals with an 8.73 before coming up with an 8.70 in the finals. His 8.70 means he is the seventh-best hurdler at the 60m distance in Emory history.

Outside of those three marks, nine additional personal-records were established by members of the Emory men's team. Joining Cox in enjoying career-best performances in the 5000m run were junior Matt Dillon (15:11.15) and junior Egan Kattenberg (15:22.46). Freshman Ryan Ryu and sophomore Graham Scott sprinted to personal-best times of 9.33 and 9.41 in the 60m Hurdles. In the 800m Run, three Eagles claimed new personal-records, namely, freshman Andrew Pahnke (1:58.57), freshman Justin Pecore (2:01.30), and senior Alex Campbell (2:03.98). On Friday, freshman Tommy Davis broke through the line after 23.33 in the 200m Dash, a new personal-record. In the field, sophomore Ben Kronman covered 6.13m in the triple jump, also a career-best.
