Tartans Place Third at Inter-Regional Rumble

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team, ranked 15th in the nation, finished the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in third place with 117 points, as Allegheny College, ranked 17th, won the event with 88 points. Leading the team was junior Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy).

Archer finished the race in seventh place after crossing the finish line in 24:24.5. Second to cross the finish line for the Tartans was junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston). The junior placed 19th overall in a time of 24:49.2.

Not far behind Norley was freshman William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) in 21st place. His time was .8 seconds slower than Norley's.

Senior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) was the fourth Tartan to finish the 8K race, as he placed 29th overall in a time of 24:58.0. Sophomore Ryan Auld (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) ran the race in 25:10.5 to place 41st while junior Brian Bollens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) was 47th overall in 25:14.1 and sophomore Steven Kool (Vienna, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Science and Technology) was 51st overall in 25:18.8.
