Sam Merriman of CWRU Closes Season at the NCAA Championships

Competing at the NCAA Championship Meet for the first time in his career, Case Western Reserve University sophomore Sam Merriman finished 167th of 278 runners on Saturday afternoon at 2015 NCAA Division III Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

Merriman, who earned NCAA All-Great Lakes Region honors via an 9th-place finish last Saturday, completed the 8k national course in 25:53.3.

Junior Ian LaMere of the University of Wisconsin Platteville was the individual champion with a time of 23:35.4, while junior Josh Thorson of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire was runner-up in 24:15.0 to lead his team to the team championship title.
