Spartans Start Season With Bill Sudeck Stampede Title

The Case Western Reserve University men's cross country team played host to John Carroll University and Ursuline College at the 15th Annual Bill Sudeck Stampede at Sundown at the Squire Valleevue Farms in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The Spartan men won the meet, led by junior Galen Caldwell (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) who crossed the finish line of the 6K for the title with a time of 19:56.30. Sophomore Sam Merriman (Middlesex, Vt. / U-32) finished close in second crossing the line with a final time of 19:57.60. Also scoring for the Spartans were senior Chippy Kennedy (Scituate, Mass. / Thayer Academy) in sixth with a time of 20:23.40, senior Ben Davis (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) in seventh with a time of 20:28.30 and senior Timothy Travitz (Salisbury, Md. / Parkside) who crossed the line for ninth place with a time of 20:32.10.
