NYU Competes at Connecticut Invitational

Several members of New York University's men's cross country team participated at the Connecticut Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday, October 17, in New London, CT.

NYU finished in 12th place with a total of 330 points to finish behind Tufts University (269) and ahead of Plattsburgh State Univerisity (400). MIT finished first (49) in the 8k race, with Connecticut placed in second (95). 

Leading the Violets was junior Nathaniel Picard-Busky. He came in 53rd in a time of 26:30.0. Sophomore Jordan Reyes finished just behind his teammate, taking 54th place with a time of 26:32.5.

"We ran pretty well. Nate and Jordan stepped up," said Assistant Coach Erison Hurtault. "A lot of our guys finished tightly together. The veterans took this opportunity to lead."

Overall, 295 runners and 26 teams competed.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Sophomore Sam Praveen finished 68th in a time of 26:47.8.

- Junior Zach Karas placed 75th with a time of 26:52.5.

- Fellow junior Eddie Cruz-Desintonio took 95th in a time 27:09.2.

"The men looked good. They really showed up today," added Hurtault. "We should be solid in two weeks."
