Tartans Win Saint Vincent Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team led the field of 17 teams at the Saint Vincent College Invitational on Saturday, September 17 with all seven runners finishing in the top 14.

Sophomore Paul Fleming (Sharon, Mass./Sharon) was the first of the Tartans to finish the 8k course as he did so fourth overall in 26:52. Freshman Edward Goebel (Abington, Pa./La Salle College) was on Fleming's heels, crossing the line one place and one second behind him.

Junior Jordan Safer (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) crossed the finish line in 10th place in a time of 27:09 before four teammates followed in a pack. Sophomore William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) crossed 11th in 27:12, sophomore Jared Moore (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) was 12th in 27:13, junior Ryan Auld (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) was 13th in 27:14 and senior Curtis Watro (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) was 14th in 27:15.
