Emory Places Sixth At Falcon Classic

The Emory men's cross country team continued its season on Saturday by competing at the Falcon Classic.  The 8k race was held at the University of Montevallo (AL) Campus Course.

The Eagles recorded a sixth-place finish out of 13 teams, with 161 points.  Taking home the top spot was Lee University (TN) with 35 points while Queens College was runner-up with 77 points.  Rounding out the top five finishers were Mars Hill (104 pts.), Augusta (126 pts.) and West Alabama (160 pts.).

Opting to rest a number of runners, senior Grant Murphy was the Eagles' top performer, covering the course in a time of 25:53 that ranked 18th in the 136-runner field.  Senior Jake Schlessinger (26:32) and freshman Martin Pimentel (26:34) were the next two Eagles to cross the finish, placing 34th and 35th, respectively, overall with Schlessinger's mark a personal best.  Rounding out the team's scorers were junior Max Brown, whose time of 26:50 placed 39th, and senior Austin Hunt, who registered a 41st place finish with an effort of 26:51.
