The Emory men's cross country team continued its season on Saturday by sending representatives to the Rowan University Border Clash and the Berry Invitational.

The No. 25-ranked men's side recorded a seventh-place effort out of 43 teams at the Border Clash, finishing with 297 points.  No. 1 SUNY-Geneseo lived up to its ranking with a first-place finish with 71 points. No. 5 MIT held down the No. 2 slot with 127 points while No. 11 RPI was third with 168 points.  No. 20 Haverford (184 pts.) and No. 18 NYU (216 pts.) rounded out the top five.

Senior Michael Sisario was the leading Eagle runner, posting a personal-best 8K time of 24:22 that placed 32nd in the 382-runner field.  Classmate Lukas Mees came through with a personal best, clocking a 24:25 that put him 37th on the final leader board. Freshman Luis Torres continued his fine rookie campaign, with his 24:37 ranking third among the pack and 51st overall.  Senior Michael McBane (24:51, pr, 74th) and sophomore Bennett Shaw (25:15, pr 111th) were the final two of the team's scorers.  Also taking part in the Border Clash were senior Austin Hunt (25:15, pr, 113th), freshman Samuel Branson (25:22, pr, 126th), freshman Martin Pimentel (25:29, pr, 140th), freshman Michael Grocholoski (26:06, pr) and junior Max Brown (26:12).

At the Berry Invitational, Emory came through with a third-place performance out of 19 teams with 145 points.  The University of the South raced to first-place status (56 pts.) while Berry was runner-up with 84 points. 

Freshman Robert Wilson was the first Emory runner to finish, registering an 8K time of 26:58, good for 23rd position out of 189 runners. Senior Philip Edwards was second on the squad and 29th overall with an effort of 27:09.  Junior Winston Leung (27:11, 31st) and freshman Andrew Kliewer (27:52.09, 59th) were the third and fourth Emory entries to finish, while senior Brandon Cromer's time of 27:52.25 represented the team's final scorer. Also taking part in the race were Tyler Breeden (27:57), Chase Gornbein (28:02), Casey Rhode (28:04) and Ian George (28:05).
