Five UAA Men's Teams Ranked in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll

Five UAA teams are ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) men's preseason poll.

Defending Association champion Carnegie Mellon University is ranked 11th in the national poll and first in the Mideast Region. The Bears return five runners from last year's team that finished 18th at the NCAA Championships.

University of Chicago is ranked 18th nationally after making its second trip in three years to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship last season. The Maroons return five of the seven runners at last year's national meet.

NYU enters the season ranked 29th and will be led by newly promoted head coach Erison Hurtault. The Violets reached as high as 21st in the USTFCCCA polls last season and placed seventh in the Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championship.

Emory University opens the season ranked second in the South/Southeast Region and 32nd in the preseason poll. The Eagles are led by fifth-year senior Lukas Mees, the 2015 USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Athlete of the Year.

Washington University is ranked 34th in the preseason poll after a 16th-place finish at the NCAA championships a year ago. Senior Ryan Becker placed 21st individually at the national meet in 2015.
