NYU Finishes Fourth at UAA Championships

The New York University men's cross country team placed fourth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship, which was hosted by Emory University at McIntosh Reserve Park in Whitesburg, GA.

NYU also finished fourth at last year's Championship.

Compiling a total of 121 points, the Violets trailed behind Brandeis University (96) for third. Both Carnegie Mellon University and Washington University in St. Louis scored 58 and are considered UAA Co-Champions.

Senior captain Jorge Maldonado paced NYU with a 12th-place finish (25:10.77). This is the Palisades Park, NJ, native's fifth-straight race in which he has led the team during the season.

Overall, 76 runners competed over the 8k course.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Junior Neil Saddler finished in 19th, clocking a time of 25:21.11.

- Sophomore Matt Osubor and junior Max Mudd finished hip-to-hip in 29th (25:46.86) and 30th (25:47.67) places, respectively. 

- Following close behind was the junior, senior and freshman trio of Jordan Reyes (25:51.59), Nick Karam (25:52.86) and Connor Riley (25:55.61). They placed 35th, 36th and 38th, respectively.
