Chicago Excels at Augustana Invitational

The University of Chicago men's cross country team continued its run of stellar results by finishing third at the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday.

The last time UChicago participated in the invite, the Maroon men and women both finished first in a field of 74 combined teams in 2014.

On the men's side, the Maroons were the top NCAA Division III team, taking third place out of 21 teams with 135 points. Lindenwood University was the team winner with 78 points.

Senior Timofey Karginov was the top UChicago finisher for the third-straight race. He took 12th place in the 8K, registering a time of 25:39.7. Freshman Tim Koenning was the next Maroon across the line in 22nd place (26:02.2). Junior Peter Kreuch was in the top 35 as well (34th, 26:20.9). The men's race featured 401 runners.
