Maroons Win Again at Aurora Invitational

For the second consecutive meet, the University of Chicago cross country team emerged victorious at the Aurora University Invitational on Friday.

One week after the men and women both won the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invite, UChicago repeated the feat at Aurora. UChicago's men won the 8K with a 41 points to top the field of 17 teams. St. Francis was the runner-up at 74 points.

Timofey Karginov led the way once again, this time with his first collegiate cross country victory. The senior crossed the finish line in 25:40.5 for a winning margin of 16 seconds. His freshman teammate Tim Koenning was runner-up at 25:56.7. Senior Eyal Hanfling was eighth at 26:19.56 and junior Peter Kreuch was 12th in 26:29.5. Overall, UChicago's men took 10 of the top 33 spots in a race that featured 195 runners.
