Rochester Completes Season at NCAA Regionals

The Rochester men's cross country team finished its season off with a 19th place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday at Rowan University.

The Yellowjacket men accumulated 502 team points in the race with all seven of its runners finishing in the top half of the field which featured a total of 303 runners.  SUNY Geneseo earned the team title with 51 points, with all five of its scorers in the top-20.  Rensselaer was 2nd with 87 points while TCNJ wound up third with 169 points.  Overall, there were 44 teams in the race.

UR was led across the finish by freshman Ivan Frantz who ended in 66th, earning a time of 25:56.6 for the 8-kilometer course.  Sophomore teammate Benjamin Martell finished in 69th place just four seconds behind Frantz at 26:00.4. 

Sophomore Hunter Phinney was 97th in 26:16.5 while seniors Matt Prohaska and Eric Franklin finished their Yellowjacket cross country careers as the Yellowjackets fourth and fifth runners.  Prohaska was 130th in 26:40.5 while Franklin ended 143rd in 26:54.0.

Rochester's displacers in the race were Jake Greenberg and Nate Conroy who finished back to back in 148th and 149th place.  Greenberg posted a time of 27:02.2 while Conroy crossed the stripe in 27:05.6.
