Yellowjackets Finish in Top Half of Paul Short Run Field

Competing at one of the biggest cross country meets in the country, the Rochester men's XC team finished in the top half of the field at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Saturday. 

UR's men finished in 22nd place of 45 teams in the Brown division at the meet, accumulating 632 team points.  Overall, teams from Division I, II and III made up the field in the middle of the three races at Lehigh.  Division I Princeton was the race winner, having all five of its runners in the top-20.

Leading UR across the finish was senior Dan Nolte who completed the 8k course in 25:26, finishing in 40th place of over 400 runners in the event.  Classmate Eric Franklin was next across the stripe for the Yellowjackets, ending in 93rd place overall, posting a time of 25:49. 

Sophomore Hunter Phinney was third for UR, clocking in at 26:12 while Ivan Frantz finished in 26:25.  Phinney ended in 146th place while Frantz was 179th.  Rounding out UR's lineup was sophomore Benjamin Martell who was 210th in 26:39.

The Yellowjacket displacers included sophomore Christopher Dalke (220th) and senior Matt Prohaska (228th).  Junior Nate Conroy (241st) and senior Jake Greenberg (266th) also ran for the Yellowjackets at Lehigh.
