CWRU Finishes Fourth at Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

The Case Western Reserve University men's cross country team finished fourth out of 18 competing squads at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational in Powell, Ohio on Saturday morning.

The Spartans finished the meet with 83 points to finish fourth behind Otterbein (49), Trine (66) and John Carroll (70).

For the second time in as many meets this season, senior Aidan DeSanto was the team's top finisher, placing 10th overall in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 26:13.5.  Senior Zach Roshon claimed 15th-place, crossing the finish line in a mark of 26:20.9, followed immediately by freshman Nathan Mack with a time of 26:22.3 to place 16th in the first 8K race of his collegiate career.  Sophomore Andrew Green crossed the line in 20th with a mark of 26:27.4, and senior All-American Sam Merriman, making his 2017 debut, finishing 22nd with a time of 26:30.2. 

Rounding out the team's top-seven finishers were senior Ben Whitman in 32nd with a time of 26:49.2 and freshman Dmytro Blundell in 35th with a time of 26:58.3.  Other time finishes by CWRU runners came from junior James De La Cruz (38th, 26:59.7), sophomore Luke Robbins (41st, 27:04.02), sophomore David Hall (50th, 27:12.1) and junior Ben Resnick (51st, 27:13.8).
