Emory Competes At Cowbell Classic

The Emory men's cross country team continued its season on Saturday by competing at Principia College's Cowbell Classic (Pre-Nationals) Meet. The competition was held at Principia's North Farm Cross Country Facility in Elsah, Illinois.

The Emory men, ranked 30th, placed 17th out of 38 programs. North Central lived up to its No. 1 billing, easily winning the race with 47 points, well ahead of runner-up SUNY-Geneseo's 150 points. Senior Shane Sullivan spearheaded the Emory contingent clocking an 8k mark of 26:09 that ranked 60th out of 354 runners, and that represented his third-best time. Sophomore Luis Torres was the second Eagle to cross the finish line at 26:38, good for 100th place overall, while classmate Marty Pimentel came through with a 26:44.  The other Emory scorers included junior Bennett Shaw (26:51) and freshman Matt Dillon (27:06).
