Maroons Finish Fifth at Vic Godfrey Open

The University of Chicago men's cross country team took fifth place in the 10-team Wisconsin-Parkside Vic Godrey Open Saturday.

Freshman Ryan Cutter crossed the line first for the Maroons with his top-15 finish, running his first collegiate 8K in a time of 26:13. Sophomore Ralph Patejunas was the next UChicago finisher in 24th (26:30), followed by Charles Gardner (31st, 26:43) and Joe Previdi (35th, 26:49).

The Maroon men scored 133 points for fifth place, just behind Division II Michigan Tech (110). Marquette also won the men's race with 27 points, followed by DePaul (74) and host Wisconsin-Parkside.
