Rochester Finishes 5th At Hamilton Short Course Race

In its first full squad action of the season, the University of Rochester men's cross country team finished in 5th place of 12 team at the Hamilton Short Course Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Yellowjackets accumulated 116 team points to end fifth.  SUNY Oneonta was the team champion with 47 points, followed by host Hamilton College with 59.  SUNY Delhi was third with 67 and Oswego State finished fourth with 94 points.
 
Leading UR through the chute was sophomore Ivan Frantz who finished in 16th place overall among 170 total runners.  His time for the 5-kilometer course was 15:54.7.
 
UR's next two finishers were junior Benjamin Martell and first year runner Daniel Allara.  Martell placed 21st in 16:04.6 and Allara clocked in at 16:05.0 for 23rd place.
 
Rounding out UR's lineup was junior Hunter Phinney in 28th place (16:11.3) and classmate Anthony Pane who ran 35th in 16:21.7.
 
The Yellowjacket displacers in the race were junior Andrew Faulstich (35th, 16:21.7) and sophomore Leo Orsini (43rd, 16:26.6).
