Rochester Runs to 10th Place at Yellowjacket Invitational

The University of Rochester hosted its annual Yellowjacket Cross Country Invitational on a beautiful Meliora Weekend Saturday at Genesee Valley Park.
 
Overall, the Yellowjacket men finished in 10th place among 17 teams in the event, compiling a team score of 228 points in the race.  Local rival RIT took first place with a score of 53, with Geneseo close behind at 72 points.  Case Western Reserve (77), Brockport (134) and Oswego State (166) rounded out the top five teams.
 
Junior Hunter Phinney led the way for UR, placing 30th in the race of 209 participants which included a UR alumni team.  He clocked in at 27:14.4 for the 8-kilometer course.
 
Sophomore Ivan Frantz was second through the chute for Rochester, clocking in at 21:19.8.  he finished in 34th place.  Junior Andrew Faulstich finished in 45th with his time of 27:41.7.
 
Completing UR's scoring lineup was sophomore Ryley Robinson in 67th, after posting a time of 28:04.4 and senior Alphonse Mugisha who ended in 28:09.7 in 72nd place.
 
The UR displacers were sophomore Collin Gwilt who was 76th (28:18.8) and junior Christopher Dalke who was 78th (28:28.6).
