Bears Win Third Consecutive Gil Dodds Invitational

The Washington University in St. Louis cross country men posted a first-place finish at the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) College Saturday morning at St. James Farm Forest Preserve.

The Bears men tallied 21 points which halved runner-up North Central (Ill.) College's 42-point effort as senior David O'Gara and junior Peter Johnsrud placed one and two individually for WashU among 181 competitors. 

The WashU men finished with eight of the top-10 overall times in the Bears first 8K race of the 2017 campaign. Following O'Gara (25:06.0) and Johnsrud (25:36.8) were two runners from North Central before the Bears qualified runners five through 10 in order: sophomore Marco Quaroni (25:58.1), freshman Joe Stover (26:04.2), senior Kirby Simon (26:04.9), senior Ben Rosenkranz (26:005.6), freshman Tucker Cera (26:06.4) and junior Chas Warden (26:13.9).
