The Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country program finished third at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships at Saukie Golf Course Saturday afternoon.
The men placed third with 124 points behind front runner North Central College (34) and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (81).
The men were led by senior David O'Gara, as the Glenview, Ill.-native captured fifth place overall with a career-best time of 23:46.9 and an average pace of 4:48 per mile. Also earning All-Region honors were junior Peter Johnsrud (24:10.4) in 20th place, senior Kirby Simon (24:27.1) in 31st place and sophomore Marco Quaroni (24:27.7) in 32nd place. Rounding out the top-five times for the men was sophomore Nick Matteucci (24:30.7).
