Maroons Finish Second at Benedictine Invitational

The University of Chicago men's cross country team earned a runner-up finish at the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational on Friday.

On the men's side, the Maroons were second of 21 teams with 81 points. Perennial national power North Central won with 66 points.

The Maroon men were well represented in the lead pack with four placements in the top 20. Junior Gavin Fujimori produced his best career finish by crossing the line in fifth. His 8K race time was 26:04.1. Sophomore William Shine was next on the list in 12th with a time of 26:21.8, followed by first-year Jonah Estabrook (19th) and sophomore Jack Barbour(20th).
