Washington University in St. Louis senior outfielder Maggie Ingell, senior utility player Kelsey Neal and junior infielder Adrienne White earned 2014 Capital One First-Team Academic All-District Five Division III Softball honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ingell, a first-team all-UAA honoree for the fourth-straight season, led the Bears with a .435 batting average, tallying 17 doubles, seven home runs and 45 RBIs. She also led the team in runs scored with 45, the second most in a single season in school history. Ingell had 13 multiple-RBI and 16 multiple-hit games, and ranked in the top-five in the conference in eight categories.

A two-time Capital One Academic All-District and three-time Academic all-UAA honoree, she has a 3.84 GPA majoring in religious studies.

White batted .377 with five doubles, three home runs and 21 RBIs. She began the season with a 24-game hitting streak, and was third on the team with 14 multiple-hit games. White, a first-team all-UAA selection, led the conference in assists with 84, and committed just five errors at third base for a .961 fielding percentage. A two-time Academic all-UAA honoree, she has a 3.78 GPA while majoring in economics and history.

Neal, a second-team all-UAA selection, batted .362 with nine doubles, seven home runs and a team-high 46 RBIs. She also led the team with 17 multiple-hit games and was second in multiple-RBI games (12). Neal posted an 8-4 record with a 2.71 earned run average on the mound, and allowed a UAA-low 14 walks in 98 1/3 innings pitched. A member of the UAA Championship All-Tournament Team, she was third in the UAA in RBIs (46), and fourth in hits (54) and total bases (84).

A three-time first-team Capital One Academic All-District and Academic all-UAA selection, Neal has a 3.90 GPA while majoring in economics. She was a Capital One Third-Team Academic All-America honoree in 2012 and a Capital One Second-Team Academic All-America selection in 2013.

Washington University won 11 of its last 14 games to finish the regular season with a 30-15 overall record. This is the Bears' second-straight 30-win season and ninth in school history. Washington U. also won its eighth UAA title after finishing in a three-way tie at the 2014 UAA Championship Tournament with a 5-3 mark.

In order to be selected to an Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must possess a 3.30 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing.
