Brittany Grage of Rochester Named National Pitcher of the Week

From University of Rochester Athletics

Rochester senior righthander Brittany Grage has been selected as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Pitcher of the Week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Grage threw back-to-back shutouts last week as Rochester defeated Rensselaer and Union to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs. After a 5-0 win over Skidmore College in round one on Thursday,  (Eleni Wechsler earned the victory in that one), Grage threw a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks against RPI in the winners' bracket on Friday morning. On Saturday, she allowed four hits with three strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Union.

The back-to-back shutouts gave her 20 for her career. She is Rochester's career leader in that category, breaking a tie with Beth Ameno (19 shutouts, 2006-09).
